Studio Members - Callie Green

Callie Green is in her third and final year at Southern Miss pursuing a degree in flute performance.  She is from Soso, Mississippi, and has been playing flute since seventh grade.  During high school, Green participated in many honor bands and clinics throughout the state, including the All South Honor Band Wind Ensemble, held here at Southern Miss, All-State Orchestra, All-State Concert Band, and the Mississippi Lions All-State Band. She began studying with Danilo Mezzadri in the Spring of 2005. Under his tutelage, she won the MMTA Senior Concerto Competition in 2005 and the MidSouth Flute Festival's High School Soloist Competition in the Spring of 2006.  She has soloed with several ensembles including the Southern Miss Symphony Orchestra, the Mississippi All-State Concert Band.  She also won the Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition in the spring of 2008, earning her the honor of soloing with the prestigious University of Southern Mississippi Wind Ensemble.  Green has attended and/or participated in masterclasses with Marianne Gedigian, Paula Robison, Fabio Colajanni, Tadeo Coelho, Danilo Mezzadri, and Sir James Galway.  After graduating, Green plans to further her education by obtaining both a Master’s and Doctoral degree in flute performance and pedagogy.
