Studio Members - Lindsey Keay

Lindsey Keay, a native of Calgary Canada, moved to Houston, Texas at the age of ten and began playing the flute a year later. Ms. Keay is a three-time Texas All-State musician, and was a member, section leader, and drum major of the Stephen F. Austin High School Band. Ms. Keay attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas where she graduated in 2006 with honors and received her B.M. in Music Studies and Human Learning as well as a Performance Certificate in Flute and her Texas Teaching Certification. While at the University of Texas, Ms. Keay studied with Karl Kraber, Jackie Hofto, and Marianne Gedigian, and performed with the UT Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble, University Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, University Opera, and several chamber ensembles. Ms. Keay is a Sigma Alpha Iota alumni, and served as the UT Beta Xi Chapter President for two years during her undergraduate studies. Upon graduating, Ms. Keay was hired as the assistant band director and woodwind specialist at Bedichek Middle School in Austin, Texas. The following year, Ms. Keay worked as an administrative assistant, grant writer, and publicity representative for the Austin Classical Guitar Society, an arts non-profit organization. Currently, Ms. Keay is a M.M. candidate for Flute Performance and a Graduate Assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She is a member of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, and studies with Dr. Danilo Mezzadri.
